Description

A warm and comforting Bourbon Apple Cider Cocktail that combines the rich flavors of bourbon, applejack, and fresh apple cider with a hint of lemon and thyme-infused simple syrup. Perfect for cozy autumn evenings or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquids

  • 1 ounce bourbon
  • 1 ounce applejack
  • 1 ounce fresh apple cider
  • ½ ounce fresh lemon juice
  • ½ ounce thyme-infused simple syrup (see notes)

Others

  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Ice for shaking and serving
  • Fresh thyme sprigs and apple slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add bourbon, applejack, fresh apple cider, lemon juice, thyme-infused simple syrup, and a dash of Angostura bitters to the shaker.
  2. Shake Cocktail: Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to thoroughly chill and blend the flavors.
  3. Strain and Serve: Strain the cocktail into an ice-filled glass to keep it cold without dilution. Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs and apple slices for an aromatic and decorative touch.

Notes

  • To prepare thyme-infused simple syrup: Combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan, add fresh thyme sprigs, heat until sugar dissolves, then let cool and strain out thyme before using.
  • Use fresh apple cider for best taste; avoid processed apple juice.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of thyme simple syrup to taste.
  • Chilling the glass beforehand can enhance the drinking experience.
