Ingredients
Scale
Fruits
- 1 ¼ cups frozen pineapple (thawed for 5 minutes)
- 1 ¼ cups frozen mango (thawed for 5 minutes)
Greens
- 1 cup baby spinach (fresh)
Dairy
- ½ cup milk (unsweetened, such as almond or skim milk)
- ¼ cup plain yogurt (unsweetened)
Optional
- 1-2 Tbsp sweetener (optional, such as honey, agave, or stevia)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Allow the frozen pineapple and mango to thaw for about 5 minutes to soften slightly for easier blending. Use fresh baby spinach to keep the smoothie vibrant and nutrient-rich.
- Assemble in Blender: Add all ingredients to a blender, placing the softer items like fresh spinach, milk, and yogurt closer to the blade. Position the frozen pineapple and mango further away from the blade to ensure smooth blending.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes or until the mixture is creamy and smooth with no large chunks remaining.
- Serve and Garnish: Pour the smoothie into glasses and optionally garnish with diced pineapple or mango for added texture and flavor. Serve immediately for the best taste and freshness.
Notes
- You can substitute the milk and yogurt with plant-based alternatives like almond or coconut milk and coconut yogurt to make it vegan.
- Sweetener is optional depending on the sweetness of your fruit and personal preference.
- Adding ice cubes is not necessary since the frozen fruit provides enough chill and thickness.
- For added protein, consider adding a scoop of protein powder or a tablespoon of nut butter.
- Refreshing and best consumed immediately to retain nutrients and flavor.
